"One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar." Helen Keller
Wow! What a busy summer I have had. In June I got to see my parents, brothers and their families which was great. We had an fundraiser in June to help us raise funds for our Mexico mission trip in which my daughter performed. She did an awesome job and of course I cried. You can hear a couple of her songs at www.myspace.com/mirandalebouff. In July, my daughter and I went to Mexico on a mission trip. Talk about life changing. On August 5th my daughter turned 17 and my neice was born on the same day. She was actually 10 weeks early. She is doing well.
Sometimes it is good to take a moment and create something just for yourself. Here are a few things I have been working on. It can be addicting. I need to get out there and take some more flower photos so I can play so more.
As look back over the post I wrote at the beginning of my journey as a photographer I started wondering if I still have the same passion. I know I still love to photograph and still capture true moments in life. Do I compromise who I am as a photographer and as a person? I do at times and wonder how to stay true to who I am. When I allow myself to just stand back and take a look at the person I am photographing I can feel and see who they are as a person and that is who I want to capture. Even when it comes to families I want to see and capture who they are as a family. I know it is hard because we have been brought up to pose and look a certain way in our photographs. But does that really give you a smile when you look back? So the big questions are how do we learn to relax in front of the camera and how do I capture the true essences of you and/or family? I do know I want to continue to learn and grow as I continue this journey.
Here are few from an urban session I did in downtown Bentonville. These sessions are so much fun. I loved photographing B..., she was so tired but she was a great sport and of course we had to have a few of her little brother.
What a fun session. My friends husband works for Coke and there is this great wall downtown Rogers with Coca-Cola painted on it. It was a little challenging because the sun was hitting the wall and blinding everyone however we were saved by a cloud.
